The Last of Us fans are calling for a sequel to "Joel's Resurrection."

The campaign began on Reddit forums and quickly escalated to other monitored networks, where users began demanding a spin-off where Joel is alive again.

The impact has been such that a formal request has even been launched for Naughty Dog to develop a mystical sequel under the tentative title: “The Last of Us Part III: Joel's Resurrection.”

Fans have even suggested that Mel Gibson direct this new installment, an idea that seems difficult because Joel was never a carpenter or a fisherman.
